For laser incidents involving eye exposure/injury and skin injury/burn, do the following:
- Shut off the laser system.
- Call 911.
- Provide first aid to injured staff.
- Go to appropriate medical facility for evaluation.
- Inform the PI as soon as possible and file a report.

Important: In the event of a laser eye-strike, injured person should be evaluated by a physician as soon as possible, regardless of exposure, whether they state they feel well or have no signs of injury. They are to be accompanied at all times by another member of the lab.
