General items necessary for plan review consideration (Note: these are not all inclusive, and others may be required on a case-by-case basis dependent upon scope of project):
- Identify occupancy class
- Identify compliance with special occupancy requirements
- Indicate height above grade plane
- Identify type of construction
- Provide design numbers for fire rated construction, with details
- Provide floor area for each story of building
- Demonstrate code compliance for area/height increase
- Identify incidental use areas with calculations
- Classify each space of building with loads and calculations
- Identify compliance with egress issues
- Provide door, lighting, glazing and interior finish schedules
- Provide site plan with hydrants, property lines and setbacks indicated
- Provide hydrant calculations
- Provide deferred submittals if necessary: fire sprinklers, fire alarm, standpipe system, elevators, etc.
- Provide valid California State Fire Marshal (CSFM) listings for all fire rated construction elements, with expiration dates
- Demonstrate accessibility compliance
- Demonstrate compliance with interior environment requirements
- Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) on staff: UCLA Fire reserves the right to require an FPE on a case-by-case basis
- For Medical facilities: requires a UCLA Fire/OSHPD Fire Marshal
