Fire and Life Safety Inspections

UCLA Fire ensures that all UCLA-owned and -occupied interests comply with California statute, and the fire and life safety regulations promulgated by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Title 24

UCLA Fire requires the following inspection sequence in order to ensure timely safety and compliance of a building under construction.

Title 19

State law establishes the minimum standards for the prevention of fire, and protection of life and property against fire, explosion, and panic. UCLA Fire conducts inspections of campus buildings to determine compliance with Title 19.

Fire Protection

Fire protection inspections follow a prescribed sequence to ensure adequate oversight of each phase of construction, and its final approval eventually leading to the Certificate of Occupancy.
