Battery Safety

Batteries power many of the devices we use every day and provide a convenient source of energy for our daily activities. However, damaged batteries or improper storage can create serious safety hazards.

Have you ever been told to place tape over the terminals of a battery and wondered why? The primary reason is to prevent short circuits, especially with lithium batteries. Lithium-ion batteries store a significant amount of energy, and if that energy is released in an uncontrolled manner, the battery can overheat and potentially release flammable and toxic gases.

How to Dispose of Battery?

Proper battery disposal is essential to ensure batteries are handled safely and recycled or disposed of correctly. Taping battery terminals before disposal helps prevent accidental contact with metal objects or other batteries, reducing the risk of fires during collection, transportation, and processing. Taking these simple precautions helps protect people, property, and the environment.
