Activated charcoal canisters, containing activated carbon, are used to adsorb gases, vapors, and odors in industrial, automotive, and medical settings.
Some uses include:
- Veterinary/Medical Waste Gas Scavenging
- Odor and Moisture Control
- Air and Water Filtration
Disposal
Activated Charcoal canister and filters are a classified as a solid flammable waste and are disposed of as "Dry Solid Chemical Waste".
- Canister or filters should be Double-bag using transparent 4 mil plastic bags
- Use chemically compatible materials (LDPE or PP)- Do not use food-grade Ziploc bags
- Avoid sharp or protruding edges
- Bags must contain no liquids
- Use appropriately sized bags- Do not tape multiple bags together
- Do not mix with containers of solid chemical waste - These require their own WASTe tags
- Affix a WASTe tags on to bottle or bag.-
