Protecting Water Quality at UCLA
At UCLA, keeping our water clean and safe is a shared responsibility — and it starts with smart, everyday practices. The Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) team helps the campus follow environmental laws and regulations by putting Best Management Practices (BMPs) into action.
These include things like:
- Preventing spills and runoff from labs, landscaping, and construction sites
- Properly storing and disposing of chemicals and waste
- Using water wisely in buildings and outdoor spaces
- Reporting leaks or environmental concerns right away
By following these simple steps, we help protect our local water systems and stay in compliance with state and federal regulations. It’s all part of creating a safer, healthier campus for everyone.
