Hands-on Fire Extinguisher Training

We are currently not offering frequent hands-on, instructor-led Fire training outside of UCLA staff in Hot Work Operations. Learn more about the UCLA Hot Work Program 

Alternatives to Hands-on Fire Extinguisher Training are:

This online module provides an overview of fire safety for the UCLA campus. Topics include fire prevention, fire protection, and what to do in the event of a fire. Details about the types of fire extinguishers used on campus and instructions for use are also included. NOTE: EH&S currently does not offer in-person fire extinguisher training. Complete the online training by searching for Course ID: FIRE-FEX-OL or the Course name: Fire and Life Safety Online Training on worksafe.ucla.edu (link is external).

In the Fire Safety for Laboratories online module, you will learn how to recognize the causes and consequences of a fire for Laboratories, how to assess a situation in the event of a fire to determine an appropriate response, how to select and use the correct fire extinguisher, and how to properly report a fire to UCLA Environment, Health and Safety. Complete the online training by searching for Course ID: FIRE-LAB-OL or the Course name: Fire Safety for Labs Online Training on worksafe.ucla.edu (link is external).
