Services
We conduct routine inspections of permanent campus food facilities, including dining halls, restaurants, cafés, markets, and concessions, to verify compliance with the California Retail Food Code. The frequency of inspections is based on health risks and ranges from 1-3 times annually.
Food facilities at UCLA are required to keep a copy of their most recent inspection report and make it available for review upon request.
Our team reviews construction and renovation plans for food facilities to confirm compliance with applicable public health codes before operation.

All food vendors, including permitted restaurants and individual food providers, are required to apply for and obtain an TFF permit when distributing food at a public event. This permit is required whether you sell food or give it away for free at the event.
Note: A private event means an event that is not advertised through media channels and is limited to members of a group, department, organization, club, and invited guests only. A private event does NOT require a food permit.
- Examples of private event include department meetings, lunches, receptions, staff gatherings, coffee breaks, and class meetings. A public event means an event that is not a private event.
